Good morning and welcome to listeners of SNAP! 94.1 in Memphis! Special thanks to Lenny for mentioning Cypress Walls on the air this morning during his daily gossip round-up with Greg Valentine.
My extended weekend home is quickly drawing to a close. Gar and I are going to have lunch at one of my favorite rib shacks in Memphis - Cozy Corner - and then I'll be on my way back to Dallas. Thankfully, I'll have a new pet monkey that Heather gave me along with a ton of wonderful memories to keep me company as I travel through Little Rock, Texarkana and all parts between.
The launch party at Ernestine and Hazel's on Saturday was a big success. Forty-five of my closest friends and family stopped by to say hey, have a a couple of drinks and a soul burger, and pick up or purchase their autographed copy of Cypress Walls. If you have never had the pleasure of having a pop with Russell and his staff, do yourself a favor the next time you find yourself in downtown Memphis.
Yesterday turned into a promotional day of sorts, as I hand-delivered books to several more Memphis friends who weren't able to make the party. I also conducted a couple of interviews with the local press and mailed 28 copies of the book to those who pre-ordered last month.
Speaking of orders, I reached a milestone in sales yesterday, eclipsing 100 books. The exact count now stands at 106...or 894 more to go!
Sincerest thanks to Paula Feisel, Eric Hofer, A'Dell Stevens, Gary Johnson, Sharon Whitman, Mary Meiers, Kathy Bergeson, Lisa Eason, Merilyn Charlton, Kerri Troxel, Brady Buffaloe, Emily Jennings, Ken Nygaard, Russell George, Phyllis Cooper, Darlene Bell, Ann Mason, Lawrie Dunn, Denise Taylor, Chris Roan, Calvin Taylor, Kevin Kane and Jimmy Ogle for buying one or more copies of Two Sides of a Cypress Wall over the past few days. I look forward to your reviews!
